Parish land purchase should improve Bordeaux boat lay-up

An area of land at Bordeaux traditionally used for locals to lay up their boats over winter has been bought by the Vale Parish to protect it for the future.

Details of the celebrations for this year's Liberation Day have been released, along with the Vale's own plans. This year, the parish is marking the anniversary with a special tea party for its older residents, which will be held at the Vale Douzaine Room.

2,000 tonne works will enable Vale road to reopen

A Vale road that was closed without warning nearly a year ago is finally set to reopen. Guernsey Water announced yesterday that work is to start stablising a quarry bordering the lane, which led to the closure.
